One of our
Bo-Irish dogs, Chewbaca Merlin Bear, known as 'Boo' born in 2005, has
recently received numerous dog titles for Draft Dog, Water Dog, and Water
Rescue Dog. Congratulations to Boo, John and Monica B. of California, for
their amazing work with Boo. Not only did they take Boo through these
working dog titles, but went on to see him attain his Water Rescue Dog
Excellent title! Please visit the Newfoundland Club of America website:
www.ncanewfs.org to read more about the requirements of earning the
certifications of these titles. The Water Rescue Dog Excellent title
requires advanced training with constant teamwork as well as physical
stamina. Not all dogs who have earned water rescue titles will be able to
attain this high level of expertise. A WRDX excellent Newf will demonstrate
superior natural ability training and efficiency in a rescue situation
according to the website. We're very proud of Monica and John for working
with Boo to attain this high level of recognition!

Check out the article in
Dog Fancy magazine, December 2009, K-9 to 5
working dogs page 35. The article on Tree Movers features a Bo-Irish dog,
Rigged for a Thunder Storm, known as Thunder. An awesome Landseer, Thunder
was the first puppy born here at Bo-Irish. He now makes his home in
Virginia, but helps with the hauling of Christmas trees at the Seven Springs
Tree Farm in Gettysburg PA. He's been trained to pull kids in carts as well
as to drag the trees on sleds. Congratulations to Dave R. and Thunder on
their awesome work on the tree farm! |
